Stanislav Katina, honorary research fellow of mathematical statistics, also happens to be a dancer, choreographer, and teacher of Argentine Tango for over 17 years. In 2008, he completed a certified three-year-long teaching course at the Centro Educativo del Tango de Buenos Aires (CETBA) in the domains of theory, mechanics, and choreography of Argentine tango. He has further acquired a professional diploma in classical dance from the Faculty of Classic Ballet at the International Society of Teachers of Dancing in Glasgow. He is also knowledgeable in the domain of modern dance (Limon, Graham, and release-based), Ashtanga yoga, and Pilates.
It is, therefore, no wonder, that Stanislav’s dancing style resonates with precision: both in the form of technique and musicality, but also a lightness and harmony with his partners. Currently, his dance partner is Alexandra Atabekian.
His choreographies have been on stages across Slovakia, Czech Republic, Austria, Scotland, and Canada. And to this date, he has completed more than 50 workshops of numerous tango styles (tango salon, tango nuevo, milonguero, vals crillo, and milonga), tango musicality, women’s and men’s technique, and others across Europe as well as the Americas. (tango salon, tango nuevo, tango milonguero, vals crillo a milonga). His favorite Argentinian teachers are: Julio Martínez, Sabrina and Rubén Véliz, Juana Sepúlveda and Mariano "Chicho" Frúmboli, Dana Frígoli and Adrián Ferreyra, Roxana Suárez and Sebastián Achával, Jorge Torres, Joaquín Amenábar, Nicolás Bertucci, Jorge Firpo, Ricardo Maceiras “El Pibe Sarandi”, Elina Roldán and Ramiro Gigliotti, Ariadna Naveira and Fernando Sánchez, Horacio Godoy and Cecilia Berra, Mabel Rivero and Gustavo Colmenarejo, María Belén Giachello and Diego "El Pájaro" Riemer, Virginia Cutillo and José Halfon, José Vazquez and Ana Yarigo, Mimma Mercurio and Alex Cantarelli, María Mondino and Ismael Ludman, Lilach Mor and Cristian Duarte, Cintia Tinelli and Lucas Panero, Jenny and Ricardo Oria and others…
